Chapel Down Bacchus 2007
Vineyards throughout the South East. Named after the Roman God of Wine. Lime, apple and nettles on the nose. The palate is alive with lemon/lime acidity and an attractive, flinty minerality. A racy, upfront wine in its youth that will age elegantly over the next two years. Similar to an NZ Sauvignon, this wine will partner fish and lighter dishes. Still one of our most popular wines.
bottle 75cl £10.99
Three Choirs Bacchus 2006
Vineyard location Gloucestershire. This variety was created by crossing (Silvaner x Riesling) X Muller Thurgau, at the Geilwilerhof Institute in Germany. Bacchus has a distinctive character that has made it very popular with English vineyards: it is great on its own, or can often lift an otherwise bland wine in blending. Some people love its complex flavours while others definitely don’t like it. The only way you will know for yourself is to try it. We find Bacchus is our single most popular white variety.
