Yearlstone No.5
(Bacchus/Huxelrebe) From the Exe valley in South Devon. If you watched BBC One's The Great British Summer - you'll have seen this vineyard's trials and tribulations over the 2006 vintage through the eyes of winemaking couple Roger and Juliet White - so why not try their wine? Yearlstone has a famous name in English winemaking, as one the early pioneers of the English wine revival - many of the South West's best known names ( Camel Valley's Bob Lindo for one ) trained on Yearlstone's famous courses back in the 1980's. In 2006 Juliet made 8 out of 65 wines awarded commendations and above at the UKVA awards. Bright, pale straw in colour, this wine has a refreshingly crisp fruit nose, with hints of asparagus and gooseberry.
