Age Limit
Under the current Licensing Act it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 years to purchase alcoholic beverages in the UK. We will not accept orders from persons under the age of 18 years. It is also illegal in the UK for any person to purchase alcoholic beverages on behalf of a person under the age of 18 years. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If we suspect that an offence is being committed under the current licensing act we will contact the relevant authorities.
Prices
All prices quoted are in UK pounds and inclusive of VAT. Some special offers of mixed cases are quoted inclusive of Delivery charges. If delivery charges are not quoted as included then our standard delivery charges apply.
Carriage
It is very important to check your goods immediately upon receipt to confirm they are in good condition. In the unlikely event goods are damaged, only sign for them if you write on the driver’s delivery document ‘goods received damaged’. In any event you must advise us within 24 hours of any goods received damaged.
We use specialist wine carriers Winetrak to ensure your order is delivered in the best possible condition. Our experience has shown it is better to use a specialist carrier, enabled to handle wine, to help prevent any possible disappointment. Orders are normally delivered 24 hours after dispatch.
Our charge is charge £10.95 packaging and delivery for 1 to 12 bottles and £5.95 for every further quantity of 12 bottles or part thereof.
Payment
Payment for goods must be made prior to dispatch. We accept payment from most major credit cards. In the event of payment by cheque, up to 5 working days may be required to confirm cleared funds.
We use Worldpay for secure online card payment. Your credit/debit card details are not seen by us.
Availability
All products are subject to availability. Acceptance of your order is not confirmation of availability. As some wines are produced in small quantities, availability can rapidly change, especially during peak periods. We never intentionally offer any products that are not available. Should you order a product, which subsequently is no longer available, we will contact you to offer alternatives. If we are unable to contact you we will substitute a wine of similar style, which you may return for a full refund. Please advise us if you do not want us to make any substitutions.
Delivery
We have no minimum order.
Deliveries are made to UK mainland only and are normally made within 3 – 5 working days from receipt of order, however during peak times this time period may be extended. If you ask us nicely we will endeavor to deliver next day.
Please check all goods before signing for them. In the unlikely event that your consignment is received damaged please write “Damaged” very clearly on the carrier’s delivery note and contact sales@bestenglishwine.co.uk. If you have not received your order within 7 working days please contact sales@bestenglishwine.co.uk.
Claims
We use specialist carriers with experience in handling wines. However in the unlikely event of any breakages or shortages English Wine Service must be notified within 48 hours of receipt of goods.
Liabilities
By ordering product from the English Wine Service you agree that the English Wine Service will not be liable to you or any third party for any consequential or incidental damages or any indirect damages whatsoever that arise out of or are related to the web site.
